Woman badly shaken by incident

A PENSIONER from the Wisbech area was left badly shaken after she was nearly driven off the road by a 4x4 that appeared to be racing.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Thursday night as the 64-year-old woman, who doesn’t want to be named, returned home from a shopping trip.

She was driving gold coloured Mercedes car along Outwell Road at Emneth when as she went round a bend the 4x4 came towards her on the wrong side of the road.

Fortunately there was enough space for her to take evasive action but the other car did clip her vehicle smashing the wing mirror.

The woman’s daughter said her mother was badly shaken and upset by the incident.

She said the 4x4 appeared to be racing another vehicle and was over-taking that at the time.

“The driver didn’t appear to have any thought for other drivers on the road. Luckily my mum managed to get over far enough so he only caught the wing mirror, but it would have been so much worse,” said the daughter.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact police on 101.
