TOMORROW is a special day for March couple Eric and Marjorie MacRaild as they celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.
The couple, who met at a dance hall in London in 1949, tied the knot at St Michael’s Church in New Southgate, London on March 17 1951.
They lived in London for more than 30 years after their marriage before moving to Devon when they first retired but moved to March 19 years ago.
Eric (87), who served on HMS Dispatch during his National Service, worked as a telephone technician for British Telecom while his wife was employed by Standard Telephones and Cables where she worked for 36 years.
The couple have two daughters: Carol MacRaild of Staines and Mrs Jayne Paveley of St Neots, and two grandchildren: Kirsty (18) and Scott (14).
Eric is a keen bowler and helps coach the juniors at March Indoor Bowls Club, he also enjoys fishing. while Marjorie (84) enjoys gardening They are celebrating the milestone anniversary with a family meal and are also planning a holiday to Ireland.
