The clocks were turned back to Dickensian times on Saturday when Benwick Residents’ Association held their sixth annual market.
People were encouraged to wear bygone clothes to reflect the occasion and there was a chance to bag some festive bargains from the stalls selling their wares. There was entertainment in a variety of forms with face-painting, Uncle Mick and Punch and Judy for the children. Manea Silver Band performed along with the Midwinter Mummers and there was a travelling Victorian museum.
Santa Claus paid a visit to the market, which was held around the village.
