Parents are being urged to ensure their children have suitable clothing and lights when out on their bicycles.
Police have received calls from motorists reporting near-misses with youths riding bikes on roads after dark in the Ramsey and Warboys area while wearing dark clothing and without lights.
PCSO Vicki Docking said: “We have had several calls from members of the public who are worried that one of these cyclists may end up being hit by a car because they cannot be seen.
“I would urge parents to ensure their children have sufficient lighting on their bikes as is required by law. Ideally they should also be wearing high-visibility clothing.”
