Donations wanted for food appeal

Independent travel agent Holiday With Us is launching a Christmas food appeal to help those less fortunate over the festive period.

Christina Purcell, from Holiday With Us, has teamed up with the Salvation Army to send out food parcels at Christmas and she is hoping the residents of Fenland will help make her appeal successful.

Christina said: “We can get wrapped up in our own worlds and become a bit selfish. There are some people who haven’t had the same chances in life and have suffered because of it. I just want to help and give something back.”

She is looking for people to take donations of tins or packets into either the Wisbech or March branches of Holiday With Us. Items need to be in date and should not be perishable, such as fresh fruit or vegetables.

Christina is hoping the food appeal will be the first charity appeal of many and she has plans in the pipeline to do more for good causes in the coming year.

The closing date for donations is Tuesday, December 18. After that, the items will be passed to the Salvation Army.
