Downham Market boy gains falconry qualification

Wisbech Grammar School pupil Thomas Fox, from Downham Market, has recently ''achieved the 'Beginning Falconry Award', a nationally recognised qualification in ''falconry.

An 11-year-old Downham boy is soaring high after becoming one of the youngest people to achieve a falconry qualification.

Thomas Fox, pictured above, is now building an aviary and is awaiting the arrival of his own bird, an Asian Wood Owl, after passing his Beginning Falconry Award.

Thomas, a Year 6 pupil at Wisbech Grammar School, completed a gruelling assessment, which included producing an extensive portfolio, along with showing his handling skills. PICTURE: SUPPLIED
