Dumped static caravan blocks Fenland road

Drivers were forced to avoid a Fenland road on Saturday evening after a static caravan was left dumped in the carriageway.

The incident in Leverington Common between Popple Drove and High Side prompted a host of witty posts to social media, after police issued a warning to motorists via Facebook.

Comments included those asking if it was available for holiday bookings in August, while another quoted the Madness song “Our house, in the middle of our street”.

Police added the large white caravan was due to be removed by local authorities.
