Education chief urges students to wear face coverings on school transport in Cambridgeshire as pandemic continues

Cambridgeshire's education chief is urging pupils to wear face coverings on school buses and public transport as the number of covid-19 cases continue to rise in the county.

Jonathan Lewis, director of education for Cambridgeshire County and Peterborough City Councils has issued the reminder telling students that it is important, now more than ever, that they comply with the law and wear a face covering when travelling on school transport.

Mr Lewis said: “Since the beginning of term, we, as the Local Authority for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, proactively implemented a new policy at the start of term encouraging all our students to wear a face covering when travelling on school transport.
