Art and faith

Children from two Wisbech schools have taken part in a drawing marathon.

Youngsters from Elm Road Primary School and Ramnoth Road Junior School attended art lessons at St Peter’s Lodge, as part of the artist in residence scheme.

The work they produced was then collated in an exhibition for parents and teachers at the lodge on Friday.

The children worked with Heloise Toop, an artist from Cambridge, who led a masterclass in portraiture, as well as Father Paul West, from St Peter’s Church, who was an art teacher before becoming a priest.

The theme of the marathon was ‘Who do you think you are?’ and got the children thinking about how they see God and how God sees them.
