Brass players sought for band

CHILDREN are being sought to join the March Brass 2000 training band.

Beginners would need to be able to play a basic C Major scale and have basic note reading skills. If they have lessons at school it would be an advantage, but not essential.

The training band, run by experienced players from the main band, play a wide variety of music giving them valuable musical experience and a chance to learn and improve new skills.

The band is looking for children aged eight and upwards and instruments can be supplied if necessary.

When beginners reach a set standard they will get the opportunity to progress into the main band and play at various concerts throughout the year. March Brass 2000 is extremely proud of their young players, many of who now play with the main band.

The Junior Band practises at the Roman Catholic Church Hall, St John’s Road, March between 6pm and 6.45pm every Monday except Bank Holidays.
