Beaupre Under Fives centre has received a welcome boost from the local Costcutter store.
The Outwell preschool has just received charitable status and the £450 cheque is the first of hopefully many donations for the popular centre.
Five children from the Under Fives centre went down to the Costcutter store on Thursday, along with members of staff, to receive the cheque from manager Sam Sandhu.
Sam explained that when local people purchased certain items in the store, a percentage went into a charity pot. Staff at the store then decide where the money will go.
In addition to supporting the Under Fives centre, a donation will also be given to nearby St Clement’s Church.
Emma Pursglove, Under Fives manager, said the money will be spent on buying extra resources for the children, such as toys and activities.
The pre-school is extremely popular, with all of its 24 places in mornings and afternoons filled for this year and next year.
