Peckover School in Wisbech celebrated St George’s day in style with a busy day of activities last week.
The day kicked off with an assembly which included a visit from a local knight – Sir Percival of Peterborough! Sir Percival taught the children all about how to become a knight, and the children recreated a medieval battle formation.
During the day, the children went to different workshops across the school creating their own shield, helmet and sword. In addition they spent time outside practising their fencing skills. Each class also got the chance to spend time in the hall with Sir Percival learning more about weapons and armour. The children were totally captivated by the ‘hands on’ time with the weaponry and armoury.
At the end of the day the children came back together to show off their creations.
