Generous children at Anthony Curton Primary School have helped animals in need at RSPCA Block Fen.
Representatives from the school council went along to the Wimblington centre last Tuesday to present a cheque for £577.
The money was raised throughout the year with various events – including collections at church services and some of the money raised at the Sport Relief event – after Block Fen was chosen as the school’s charity of the year.
Teaching assistant Michelle Johnson said: “Each year, the children of the school council are tasked with finding charities from around the area. They then discuss with their classes which charity they want to choose.
“The amount they raised far exceeded expectations. The children were very pleased, as were Block Fen. They got to have a tour of the centre, which they really enjoyed, and even got to cuddle some kittens.”
The school is now currently choosing which charity they will be fundraising for next.
