Emergency services save man’s life after suspected drug overdose in Wisbech




Emergency services saved a man’s life after a suspected drug overdose in Wisbech on Saturday.

The Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team and East of England Ambulance Service were called to Victoria Place at 3.17pm.

They assisted a member of the public who was administering CPR to the patient, who was not breathing.

He was given naloxone, which reverses the effect of opioids during an overdose, and he regained consciousness and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn.

A police spokesman said: “Thanks to the quick thinking of our officers, the paramedics and the public, the man is still alive and okay.”
