Emneth set for new post office

Opening hours at a village post office will more than double when it re-opens following a major makeover.

Emneth Post Office will open to customers for an extra 59 hours a week – up from 41.5 to more than 100 – following the revamp.

The Gaultree Square store will need to temporarily close for two weeks in order for the modernisation works to take place. It will shut on Tuesday, October 13, at 12.30pm and re-open on Wednesday, October 28, at 1pm.

The new-look Post Office ‘local’ store will open seven days a week, including all day Sunday and Saturday afternoon for the first time. There will also be an end to lunchtime closing.

The opening hours will be 6.30am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and 6.30am to 8pm on Sundays.

Services, available from an open-plan till, will include Special Delivery, home shopping returns, and online banking cash deposits and withdrawals. Customers will also be able to send funds abroad using Moneygram, pay bills, pre-order travel money, and top up mobile phones.
