WORK is due to start in the New Year on the next phase of the reconstrcution of the River Nene flood wall in Wisbech.
Following on from the work which has already been completed, Cambs County Council has given notice that the work will is complete the wall along Nene Quay up to the junction with Hill Street.
The road will be closed to north bound traffic from January 23 until the end of June.
Due to the type of work and machinery needed, the council has said it will have to completely close secions of Nene Quay for 16 days from 9.30pm on February 24 to install 15m-long steel sheet piles into the river bed.
At the end of the project, the road will also have to be closed from June 15 to 18 for resurfacing.
The council has said when Nene Quay is fully closed, there will only be access on foot to individual properties.
Where this is the case, the site traffic marshal will allow temporary parking and deliveries along Nene Quay as close as possible to properties.
