Do just what it says on the bin: recycle!

That’s the message from these children, who came out top in a competition for primary schools run by Fenland District Council.

They had to dream up superheroes to promote recycling. Six schools took part: Leverington, Murrow, Orchards at Wisbech and Westwood, Burrowmoor and Cavalry at March.

Each school’s winner got a new blue bin emblazoned with their design.

They and the runners-up also won framed pictures of their superheroes and small bags made from recycled materials.

Cabinet member Cllr Peter Murphy is pictured with five of the schools’ winners and runners-up after presenting their prizes at special assemblies.

He said: “We had loads of excellent entries, so picking the winners was really hard. Congratulations to all.”

Cavalry’s winner and runner-up will receive their prizes later.
