Extensive damage caused to home in March after fire

The cause of a fire which caused extensive smoke damage to a Fenland house is underway.

Crews from Wisbech and March were called to a house fire in Peyton Avenue, March at 11.15am yesterday, Wednesday July 20.

Smoke was issuing from a semi-detached house when fire crews arrived and they forced entry as no one was in the property.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire and returned to their stations by 2.05pm.

Extensive smoke damage has been caused to the property.

Fire investigators are currently looking into how the fire started.
