Wisbech fair officially opens as it brings enjoyment to area
The fun fair has officially opened as it returns to Wisbech town centre, putting smiles on people's faces.
The Statue Fair is located in the usual Chapel Road car park and Market Square in the centre of town.
On Wednesday, the town mayor, Sidney Imafidon, and councillors, attended its official opening at around 6pm. The opening was a big success, Sidney said, with lots of people turning out for the occasion.
He said: “The atmosphere was really good and there was no trouble whatsoever.”
The mayor joined in with the fun and raced around in a bumper car as well as finding his way through the house of mirrors.
He also went inside the fun house and won some prizes too.
Sidney added: “The fair is an important part of the calendar of Wisbech that everyone enjoys.
“I would like to see it carry on for the town to enjoy for years to come.”
The fair will be open today and tomorrow at 6pm and its last day on Saturday from 2pm before moving on to March Market Place.
