Fenland Arts - scriptwriting workshop

EVER wanted to write your own play or film? Now is your chance.

Fenland Arts is hosting an informative workshop which is a solid introduction to the craft of Scriptwriting. It will cover structure, character, plot and dialogue.

The evening will provide an opportunity for lively debate and group discussion as well as practical exercises. Participants are invited to bring along ideas, but only if they wish. Comprehensive hand-outs will be provided and there will be a chance to look at examples of successful scripts.

The workshop will be run by freelance scriptwriter Laura Watson, whose credits include EastEnders, Casualty and Radio 4.

Laura is currently on the Escalator initiative (for emerging artists in the East of England) and has received a grant from the Arts Council to research and write a theatre play. Prior to going freelance, Laura worked as both a Script Editor and Story Editor for the BBC.

Laura has extensive experience in running scriptwriting and runs an annual course in Newmarket. She also hosts a monthly scriptwriting forum.

Places for the Workshop, which runs on Wednesday September 21 from 7pm to 9pm at March Tow Hall are priced at £10 per person and £5 concessions.

To book your place call in and see Claire at the Fenland Arts Box Office at March town Hall or call 01354-652769 or 01354-741538.
