Fenland Culture Fund round two set for launch this week
An open celebration event is taking place in Wisbech to launch round two of the Fenland Culture Fund.
The second round of the fund, which helps to develop and enrich arts, culture, and heritage opportunities across Fenland, launches on Wednesday, November 20.
To celebrate, an open event is being held the same day at The Hop Rooms at Elgoods Brewery in Wisbech, between 1pm and 3pm.
Any local creatives and community arts organisations interested in applying for a share of a £50,000 grant funding pot is invited to attend to find out more about the fund and the application process.
Representatives from Fenland District Council, which manages the fund, and part-funders Arts Council England, will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Any individuals or local businesses interested in establishing a Giving Circle, to help support the future of the Fenland Culture Fund beyond the second round of funding, is also welcome to attend.
• Anyone interested in attending is asked to RSVP by Tuesday, November 19 via email at: culturefund@fenland.gov.uk
The free event also includes talks from a number of successful round one grant recipients, as well as free tea, coffee and cake.
Grants of up to £2,000 are available in round two of the fund, to either:
• Support the delivery of arts, culture, and heritage projects and activities in Fenland.
• Invest in equipment and tools, and adapt or improve new or existing cultural spaces.
The fund opens to applications on Wednesday, November 20, and closes on Monday, January 13, 2025.
In the first round of funding last year, over £34,000 of funding was shared between 19 individuals and organisations across the district. You can read more about the range of projects delivered here: Over £34,000 awarded to arts, culture and heritage organisations across Fenland
The celebration event at Elgoods Brewery will bring people together to reflect on what has been made possible thanks to the fund and to think about its future, including launching the second round. Whether you are someone interested in applying for a grant or want to learn more about how you or your business could support arts, culture and heritage in Fenland then you will be very welcome.
Anyone unable to attend the event but wanting to find out more information about the fund or application process can email culturefund@fenland.gov.uk or call 07563 375911.
