Fenland Olympic torch bearers

PEOPLE from Fenland are preparing to set off on the Olympic trail after being chosen as torch bearers.

At the age of 12, Kieron Green, of Wisbech, is our youngest representative and he is due to do a leg at Moulton today (Wednesday) at 10.37am.

Also with the torch today is our oldest bearer March woman Robyn Joly (70) with an early 7.10am leg at Peterborough; Charles Cattell (66) from Wisbech is at Spalding at 9.34am; Jaqui Fairfax from March is at Holbeach at 10.56am and Ian Groome (54) from March is at Long Sutton at 11.24am.

Other torch bearers are Mark Spinks (47) from Walpole Highway running at Great Yarmouth on July 5, Tom Baty (28) formerly of Wisbech is due at Felixstowe on July 5 and Matthew Dawson (16) from Wisbech is due at Huntingdon on July 8.

David White (54) from March was also selected for a leg in Lincolnshire on June 27.
