JUDGES from Wisbech Round Table have short listed six girls through to the final of this year’s Rose Queen competition.
They are: Savarna Burrows (14), Rebecca Best (17), Shelby Connolly (16), Jasmin Jackson (17), Rhema Wilson (15) and Shannon Plavecz (15).
These girls are invited to appear before a panel of judges on June 8 starting at 6pm in the Cafe Studio at Etcetera shop in Wisbech. They have been chosen from a bumper entry again this year of over 20 would-be carnival queens.
The judges will hear more about their hobbies and ambitions and why they would like to head the July 2 parade through the town.
The winner receives a great prize package of £150 from the Round Table, who organise the popular parade, a professional photo-shoot and makeover from Fotogenic, of Hill Street, Wisbech; an exclusive dress made for the big day by Young Romantics at Scrimshires Passage in Wisbech, hair and make-up by the Cutting and Beauty Rooms at Hill Street, Wisbech, and nails done by nail technician Lisa Ball, of Wisbech.
Pictures from the presentation evening and details of the winner will be featured in the Citizen of June 15 and online at www.fenlandcitizen.co.uk
