Firefighters from Ramsey were called to rescue an injured goose following a collision in Forty Foot River, off the B1096.

The fire service received a call from Fenland Animal Rescue at 12.28pm yesterday, Sunday September 6, which had tried to rescue a goose that was believed to be injured following a road traffic collision the night before.

Firefighters dressed in dry suits used a water sled to safely rescue the animal and hand it over to a vet to be checked over.

The crew returned to station by 2.25pm.
