A TYDD St Giles house has been gutted in its second fire in about a year.
The Old Post Office, in Church Lane, went up in the flames sometime overnight between Monday and Tuesday.
When fire crews were called at 4.05am, the empty two-storey building was well alight, which suggested the fire had been burning for some time.
The fire had gone through the roof and firefighters had to use a turntable ladder to fight the flames with a jet.
At the time of going to press, the main fire was out but crews remained at the scene to damp down a number of “hot spots”.
A cause for the fire was unknown as fire investigators had not been able to get inside the property.
The seven-bedroom house had been empty since a previous arson attack, around a year ago, in which parts of the property suffered damage.
It had been put up for auction, but failed to meet its reserve in October’s auction.
