Firefighters helped save a horse from a ditch in Qua Fen Common, Soham, yesterday, Tuesday September 16.

Crews from Cambridge and Ely were called at 9.55am to a reports of a horse stuck up to its neck in mud near Qua Fen Common, Soham.

A foal was trapped in a water-filled ditch and specially trained firefighters donned in-water suits and used animal rescue equipment to safely rescue the foal under supervision of the vet.

Crews returned to their stations by 12.20pm.
