Fitness phenomenon taking Fenland by storm

A fitness phenomenon which has taken Fenland by storm is celebrating a year in business with news it will be expanding once again.

Motiv8 Health and Fitness has grown from one exercise class a week to 13 across Wisbech and King’s Lynn – and numbers of people attending jumping from ten to 150 in just one night.

Now it is expanding again, with plans to start classes in Downham Market.

The business launched last summer when founder and lead trainer Mark Flowers left a life as a weapons engineer and physical trainer in the Navy to introduce mililtary-style fitness to Fenland and West Norfolk.

“My aim was to ensure everybody of all abilities, shapes, sizes and ages was motivated to achieve their goals,” he said.

The former boxer started offering a personal trainer service and held a military-style bootcamp class in King’s Lynn on Saturdays.

Now he holds morning and evening classes every day of the week except Sundays, with classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings being split across two separate sessions to cope with demand.

Classes include Metafit, which is high intensity interval training; boxing-based Hiit Fit, the original Bootcamp, and the recently-added Buggy Bootcamp, where mums and dads can work out with their babies.

Mark also runs a six-week programme, offering four classes in Wisbech or King’s Lynn for £59.99. The next starts in Wisbech tomorrow (Thursday).

Since its launch, Motiv8 has seen numerous success stories. Many people who started at Motiv8 unable to run for five minutes go on to be able to complete events such as Insane Terrain, a muddy 10k obstacle race.
