YOUNG Wisbech rugby player Frank Etherington was among the youngest people to take part in the Leadenboot Challenge recently.
The Wisbech RUFC player completed the 26.2 mile circular walk, which started in Alstonefield in the Peak District and also included a 5,800 feet ascent at the end of May.
Frank, who was accompanied by his dad Shaun, raised £400 in sponsorship by his efforts which means he more than beat the target he set for fundraising for the club at the start of the 2011/12 season.
He completed the challenge, on what was one of the hottest days of the year so far, in an impressive nine hours and 53 minutes.
He set out to raise £1,000 for the club to provide a drop down baby changing facility and associated equipment for Wisbech Rugby Club.
