A FANCY dress party has raised over £200 for Magpas.

The 1980s-themed party was organised by Parson Drove woman Louise Hayes, who was involved in a car accident with her mum Carol Summers.

She credits Magpas with saving her mother’s life and planned the fundraiser as a thanks.

Louise was a bit disappointed with the turn-out for Saturday’s party at Leverington Sports and Social Club and had hoped to raise a bit more cash.

“We had fun though,” she said. “Everyone that came dressed up and we had a good night.”

Louise also has some more fundraising events in the pipeline that she hopes will boost their donation a bit more.

Carol was injured in November when she and Louise were involved in a collision with an oil tanker at the Parson Drove crossroads.

Carol had to be cut from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries, including internal bleeding and a head injury.

Louise added: “Thank you to everyone that came for their donations and thanks to everyone who gave raffle prizes.”
