LEARN MOREThere was plenty of spooky goings on in a Fenland town centre on Sunday including a scary clown and a not so cuddly rabbit.
Provided by Wisbech Town Council the Halloween Spooktacular was a monster hit with families despite being arranged fairly last minute because of a communications mix-up.
Made possible thanks to a 'surprise' grant to the council the event included free fairground rides, musical entertainment, as well as members of the Nine Lives Theatre Company showcasing their dancing skills.
Wisepenny the Clown dared visitors to venture into his lair, while Donny Darko the bunny mixed with the crowd along with ghostly pirates and a scary werewolf on stilts.
A fancy dress competition saw some very creative costumes for the mayor Andrew Lynn to judge, with everyone who entered enjoying sweets from a Basket of Treats.
The three hour event was set up by volunteers in the driving wind and rain, but thankfully by the time it started the weather had brightened and people came out in force to enjoy the spooky fun, which included a pumpkin hunt around the town's shops and businesses.
A town council spokesperson issued a massive thanks to all those who gave their time to make the event happen.
