Gallery: Sunshine brings in the crowds for annual Parson Drove Car, Bike, and Trike Show
Thousands of car and bike fanatics descended on a Fenland village over the weekend for a popular annual show.
Crowds flocked to the 16th Parson Drove Car, Bike, and Trike Show, held over two days on the village’s playing field in glorious sunshine.
The event, which has raised nearly £100,000 for emergency medical charity Magpas, the East Anglian Air Ambulance - and other local charities since it started in 2007 - offered something for everyone with the weekend kicking off on Saturday with a music and beer festival.
Bands included Holman Hilts Delaney, Skip Intro, and Hold the Sky,
Sunday was all about the machine as hundreds of bikes, vintage and veteran cars, and vehicles were shown in all their gleaming glory by their proud owners.
There was also entertainment that included: LJ Dance Academy, 360 Bike Display, DNA – live music, and the presentation of trophies.
Jonathan Reader, one of the organisers, said they were really pleased with the show, which this year attracted over 400 vehicles and looks set to have raised around £13,000 for the chosen charities that not include the two air ambulances but also the Parson Drove Amenities 95 Committee, which looks after both the village hall and the playing field.
He said: “We are still counting the money to work exactly how much was raised, but we are very pleased with how the event went. It may not have been the best year, but it certainly is one of the best we have had and we are very, very happy.
“Attendance may have been slightly down on previous years but we are still working out numbers, even so there were thousands of people there.”
