Gang attack men in March after they try to prevent criminal damage in the town's West End
A father and son who tried to intervene to stop criminal damage and anti-social behaviour in March were attacked by a gang in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The pair were allegedly beaten with pieces of wood during the attack, which is believed to have involved between eight to 12 people, but luckily the suffered only minor injuries..
The victim and his 20-year-old son were in the West End area when the incident happened at around 2.30am.
A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: "We were called at about 2.30am on Saturday June 22 with reports of criminal damage and antisocial behaviour on West End Road, March.
"Passers-by who tried to intervene were then assaulted by the group and two men suffered minor injuries as a result.
"Officers attended the scene but the suspects had fled. No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing."
