A gas cylinder exploded during a blaze in a garage last night (Monday, April 13).
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire in Mount Pleasant Road, Wisbech.
Crews from Wisbech and March were called to a shed and fence fire at 4.25. It had started to spread to a garage.
Police closed the road during the fire.
Eight firefighters tackled the blaze, which took a dramatic turn when a cylinder inside the shed exploded.
Two other cylinders were removed and cooled down.
Station Commander Jamie Johnson said: “The crews were met with a quickly spreading fire, which involved a number of cylinders.
“ It was a very arduous and dynamic situation for firefighters who did extremely well to contain and extinguish the fire.”
Crews returned to their stations by 8.55pm.
Re-inspections took place overnight to check for hotspots.
