GCSE RESULTS 2024: University Academy Long Sutton principal congratulates ‘so many smiling, happy faces’ as pupils celebrate hard work and dedication
Students at Long Sutton University Academy were congratulated by the head for their ‘hard work and dedication over the last five years.’
Liam Davé, principal at UALS, commented on the many smiling faces seen opening their certificates on GCSE results day.
“We are really proud of our learners and their achievements,” he said.
“In particular, we are delighted by the really pleasing performance of art, drama and statistics.
“It is a real testimony to the hard work of pupils from all backgrounds that the top five performers in terms of progress include pupils from a very wide range of learner groups.”
He explained how UALS is an establishment that caters for the needs of all of its pupils and the ‘excellent’ Progress8 scores across all subjects.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents and carers for the support they have offered their children over the last five years, often driving their children to school for extra lessons on a weekend in the depths of winter,” he added.
“I must also thank all of the staff and governors for the work, support, and dedication that they continue to give to ensure our pupils have achieved as well as they have."
Students across Fenland collected their GCSE results yesterday including at the Neale-Wade Academy in March, Cromwell Community College in Chatteris, Thomas Clarkson Academy in Wisbech, University Academy Long Sutton, Wisbech Grammar School, and at Marshland High School.
Nationally the number of pupils passing has dropped for the third year running dropping to just above the pre-pandemic levels.
