As the weather begins to improve, many are looking for outdoor activities to take part in and one local charity is looking for people to sign up for their annual bike ride.
Ride For Your Lives, organised by the East Anglian Air Ambulance, is now in its second year and will take place on Sunday 16 June at Grafham Water in Cambridgeshire.
Chris Donaldson, Area Fundraising Manager for EAAA, said: “Last year, the event proved popular with both families and serious cyclists keen to raise money for the charity. This year, we are attempting to collectively ride 1,000 miles in one day and we’re looking for people to contribute as much or as little as they like, whether it be one mile or 100 miles.
“All the money raised from the event will go directly towards the air ambulance to ensure that we can continue quickly getting doctors and critical care paramedics to the scenes of medical emergencies and help local people when and where they need us most.”
Registration to the event is £10.00 per individual or £20.00 for a family. Cyclists can take hours over one easy lap or get stuck in and ride as far as they can in a day. Families may also like to bring a picnic along and make a day of it.
Anyone wishing to take part who doesn’t have a bike can still take part as Grafham cycling has kindly offered a 15% discount on bike hire to anyone taking part in the event on the day.
