Visitors got a soaking during a May Day event in March.
St John’s Church welcomed between 350 and 500 people along to its May Day celebration yesterday (Monday, May 4). Families enjoyed petting chicks and meeting Elsa from Frozen. Youngsters also had fun in the sumo suits. A popular attraction to the event was the stocks and children enjoyed throwing water over Conservative Parliamentary candidate Steve Barclay, who also opened the event. The fun day is estimated to raise £1,500 for the church funds. Jackie Hudson, who works with the junior church, said: “It was a wonderful day.”
