Take some red then add a dash of blue and what do you get? The colour purple - which Papworth Trust is urging local people to adopt and help fund work to support disabled people.
Purple for Papworth is being held between 3 and 10 of March, 2014. The Trust, a disability charity, is encouraging everyone to use the colour purple as a theme to raise vital funds.
The Trust wants to turn the country purple, and whether it’s making purple pizza, having a purple dress-down day at work, a purple pamper party, purple pub quiz, or even a prune eating competition – ideas are flying in like ‘purple rain’!
Annette Angell, Papworth Trust’s Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager, said: “The public always amaze us with the way they respond to a challenge to help us in our work supporting disabled and older people. Purple for Papworth we are sure will result in some brilliant and creative fundraising ideas and initiatives.
“We are trying to raise funds to provide essential services for disabled people in the local area. As well as raising money, we’re hoping that by Going Purple, we can increase awareness of the importance of offering disabled people high quality services.”
