Golf day raises £5,500 for Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech
A golf day organised by a Wisbech businessman has seen more than £5,500 donated to charity.
Luke Connolly, director of Connolly and Son Ltd, a building and groundwork contractors, organised the event earlier this month at the Tydd St Giles Golf Course.
A total of 64 players split into teams of four played 18 holes of golf.
At the start of the day individuals and businesses were able to sponsor a hole to help boost funds and there was also a raffle and auction along with other donations.
On Wednesday Luke presented the proceeds of the day, which also included food and drink, to the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech.
A spokesperson for the charity said: "This is such a generous donation, Luke and the players did so well, the donation will help support future patients and their loved ones in our community."
And Luke added: "I’m so happy for this to be going to such a worthy and grateful cause."
