Children progress well and are “happy and content” at a Chatteris nursery which has been judged as ‘good’ by Ofsted.
The Meadows Daycare Centre in New Road achieved a ‘good’ rating in all areas when inspected by the education watchdog last month.
A report, published last week, said effectiveness of leadership and management, the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, children’s personal development, behaviour and welfare, and child outcomes were all good.
Inspector Gail Warnes said parents are positive about their children’s experience at the nursery and kept fully informed and involved in their learning and development.
She said staff plan stimulating activities to challenge the children and support their interests. They also help children settle in quickly and accurately assess the progress they make.
She added: “Children are eager to join in and acquire positive attitudes to learning and good skills to support their future education.”
Areas for the nursery to improve in future include making better use of opportunities to develop children’s mathematical knowledge and developing systems to analyse the effectiveness of nursery practice.
