ANOTHER of Wisbech and Fenland Museum’s treasures is going on loan.

The original manuscript of Charles Dickens’s novel ‘Great Expectations’ is one of the highlights of the exhibition Dickens and London at the Museum of London which opens in early December.

The manuscript of ‘Great Expectations’ was given by Dickens to his friend the Rev Chauncy Hare Townshend who bequeathed it to the Museum in 1869.

“It’s very exciting for the museum to make an important contribution to this prestigious exhibition in London and a valuable opportunity to publicise Wisbech as a significant cultural and heritage resource,” said David Wright, Curator.
