Runner Lavinia Seward from Chatteris is taking on the challenge of the Great Wall of China Marathon on May 18.

Seventy-one-year-old Lavinia is raising money and awareness for the charity, Cambridge Women’s Aid, which helps women and children who are victims of domestic violence.

An experienced marathon runner and member of March Athletic Club, this will be Lavinia’s eighth marathon. She has covered the distance in several different cities including London, New York, Toronto, Berlin and Florence.

Lavinia travels to China on May 14 and will hopefully have some time for sight-seeing before running the marathon.

Her daughter Katrina has sent up a Facebook page for people wanting to sponsor. See: Lavinia seward aged 71 runs great wall of china for women’s aid. Katrina can also be contacted on 07969 139642 for sponsor forms and donations.
