A Cromwell Community College pupil has gone under the hair clippers to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Faith Shepherd (12), from Chatteris, decided to lose her long lock and raise money for the charity at the same time.
The idea was welcomed by family and friends and she raised just over £600. Her hair was also donated to the charity.
“Faith posted this – ‘Cancer affects so many people including my family and friends! I know we all want to beat it, but its tough! I’m going to do my little bit by cutting off my hair and donating it towards making wigs for children and adults with cancer, if you wish to donate some money for this charity I would be most grateful thank you!!!!’
“And soon donations came flooding in from so many generous people,” said her proud mother Caroline Wayman. “She looks so different with short hair but is pleased with her own little charity work.”
Faith’s haircut was carried out by Joanna Waters who works at ‘Stephanies’ in Milton.
