THERE were some spooky goings-on at Wisbech’s Oasis Centre on Saturday.

The Family Fun Day at the community centre had a Halloween theme and there were plenty of activities to keep families busy.

Little horrors and their families got messy with lots of arts and crafts. A total of 120 people took part, from 38 families, with a good mix of nationalities.

They got to decorate cakes and biscuits, paint Halloween ornaments, make windsocks and create Halloween signs.

Other organisations were also at the Oasis Centre. A representative from Fenland District Council was there to talk about recycling, the NHS carried out health checks and staff from Wisbech Library went along.

A lot of youngsters went to the Oasis Centre in fancy dress and two winners were chosen – a boy and a girl – who both received prizes. Every child that attended got a bag of sweets.

Chris Stevens, from the Oasis Centre, said it was a good afternoon and there was unanimous feedback of lots of smiley faces from visiting families.
