Shoppers at Wisbech’s 99p Stores have a guilty pleasure: they can’t buy enough “posh” items!
According to a survey, the town’s shoppers came out in the Top Ten in a UK 99p Stores’ ‘posh-o-meter’.
The recession busting brand studied purchases of perceived “posh” items at its 180 UK branches.
The basket included these items, each only 99p: sundried tomatoes, blueberry juice, roasted garlic pasta sauces, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, jalapeno peppers, asparagus spears, pesto, red grilled peppers and pomegranate juice.
And as well as above there is even posh food for pets! This includes Gourmet Gold food and special customised Posh Cat beef dinner.
“At 99p a product, Wisbech value hunters know a bargain when they see one,” said 99p Stores boss Hussein Lalani. “Britons – and that’s all Britons, affluent and not so affluent - have become extremely discerning skilful shoppers.”
There is a thriving 99p Stores in Wisbech town centre – “one of our very busiest in the UK,” added Mr Lalani. There are 183 branches including another in Huntingdon town centre. More than 2M Britons shop weekly at 99p Stores.
The Citizen has teamed up with 99p Stores on Wisbech Market Place to offer three readers £50 vouchers. And you DON’T have to be posh to enter!
