Four different charities are set to benefit when a debut charity ball is held in Wisbech next weekend.

The event at the Elme Hall Hotel is the first to be organised by Michelle Peploe on behalf of local Aldi stores, and is open to the public.

Staff from Aldi stores at Wisbech, King’s Lynn, Peterborough and Bretton have each picked a charity to support, with Wisbech raising money for Parkinson’s UK.

Michelle, assistant manager at the Wisbech store, said the four stores decided to join forces to raise money for good causes. She said: “We work closely with the other stores and often hold charity netball matches and rounders together, things like that, but I wanted to take it a step further so I decided to organise a ball.”

Around 90 tickets have sold so far, with all money raised on the night being split equally between the stores’ four charities.

Tickets, priced at £12 each, are available from the Wisbech Aldi store or from Michelle on 07944 226537.
