A call has gone out for sexual health professionals, teachers and young people from around Cambridgeshire to put themselves forward for a prestigious national award.

Nominations are open for the UK Sexual Health Awards 2014, and there are a range of categories celebrating exemplary professionals, volunteers, services and campaigns.

There are also awards for good practice in sex and relationships education and excellence in sexual health journalism over the last year.

The awards will culminate in a spectacular dinner and ceremony in central London in March.

One of last year’s winners at the awards was Kay Elmy. As manager of the Peterborough Contraceptive and Sexual Health Service and the Sexual Assault Referral Centre, she was named sexual health professional of the year.

She was singled out for her passion and dedication to ensuring children, young people and adults alike have access to a professionally run but supportive services – often at a traumatic time in their lives.

All shortlisted finalists get a free ticket to the awards dinner and ceremony on Friday, 14 March, 2014, at 8 Northumberland Avenue - a stunning venue in the centre of London.

Anyone can nominate themselves or another person, organisation or service. Simply visit before Friday, 29 November.
