HEALTH care charities, support groups and associations in South Fenland are invited to a special workshop to look at health care plans.
Reg Wenn, of the South Fenland community health campaigners, formed in conjunction with the Independent Patients’ Public Information Forum, is inviting people on June 15 to St Peter’s Church Hall, March, at 6.30pm.
Led by Dr Stuart Shields, it will look at the use of Personal Health Care Plans as a force for change.
Reg explained the NHS East of England has produced a document for people to use.
It records vital information and choices for individuals. It is owned by the patient and should be updated with the assistance of a carer or health professional.
“Our workshop hopes to make people aware of this document and by understanding what care they should be receiving for the long-term condition. We can demonstrate good practice or gaps in service that charities can then discuss with the GP commissioning decision makers,” said Reg, adding ultimately, more people should receive consistent, sustainable health care and make for a more efficient and user-focussed health service.
