A Chatteris pensioner is encouraging people to join the membership of Papworth Hospital, the UK’s largest heart and lung hospital.
Jean Lawson has twice been a patient at Papworth Hospital and said: “As a former nurse I really enjoy attending the membership events, listening to the different talks on circulation and the heart. It’s a great way to meet new people who have a connection with Papworth.
“My husband and I have also been volunteering at Papworth for five years. It is our way of giving something back to this fantastic hospital.”
As an NHS Foundation Trust, Papworth Hospital has a membership scheme to give people the chance to have their say on the development and future of the hospital and to stay in touch. Papworth Hospital currently has around 10,000 members and is encouraging people with an interest in the hospital to sign up.
Anyone over the age of 16 and living within one of Papworth Hospital’s membership constituencies can join. The membership constituencies are: Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and the rest of England and Wales.
The benefits of joining include:
Receiving a quarterly newsletter
Attending hospital membership events
