Choosing the right NHS health service will be easier now that a website dedicated to helping the public choose well has been launched.
The website, created by NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group, contains a mixture of information, articles and educational tools to help the public understand which service is most suitable for their health needs.
The website is different to any others offering this type of information because it contains snapshots from healthcare professions giving their views on choosing the most appropriate NHS service.
Choosewellcambs.nhs.uk will be regularly refreshed with new interviews from GPs, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals in an effort to bring people closer to their local NHS team.
This is the first time that Cambridgeshire residents have had access to a one-stop website, specifically dedicated to the Choose Well Campaign. The site also contains Choose Well leaflets that can be downloaded in over 26 different languages.
Cambridgeshire GP, Gary Howsam, Said “One in three people who visit Emergency Departments in the region could have self-cared or used another service. This unique website can be an essential tool in helping the public choose the correct service.
“If self-care is not an option, your local pharmacist, GP, or Minor Injuries and Illness Unit are all available to help. If you are unsure which service to use, call NHS 111 for advice and guidance.”
