March residents are being urged to help shape the future development of the town by having a say on a new draft neighbourhood plan.
After years of planning and consultation with homeowners, March Town Council is publishing its draft Neighbourhood Plan next week.
The plan is being unveiled at a public exhibition being held at The Oliver Cromwell Hotel in March, next Friday, March 20, from 10am to 7pm, and on Saturday, March 21, from 10am to 2pm.
A consultation period will then run for six weeks, ending on Friday, May 1.
Residents are being encouraged to have their say as the neighbourhood plan will give them the power to help shape future development in the town.
Once adopted, the final plan will play a key role in deciding future planning applications, taking into account local people’s views such as where new homes should go and what they should look like, where other forms of development should go and which green spaces should be protected.
Copies of the draft plan can now be downloaded from the town council’s website at: www.marchtowncouncil.gov.uk along with a copy of the official comments form.
Hard copies of the draft plan can also be viewed at the town council offices, March library and Fenland District Council offices.
